Smithers Announces New Pharmaceutical Development Services President

(Gaithersburg, MD, USA) – October 18, 2022 – Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announces the appointment of Dr. Christina Satterwhite as President of Smithers Pharmaceutical Development Services division. 
 
Christina has responsibility for the division’s operations and overall business leadership with oversight of both the Gaithersburg, Maryland and Ewing, New Jersey laboratories. Services provided at these sites include bioanalytical services that support the development of large molecule therapeutics from discovery through phase IV, with expertise in bioassays and ultra-sensitive ligand-binding assays.
 
She joins Smithers with over 20 years bioanalytical contract research organization (CRO) experience in roles ranging from research scientist to laboratory leader. Tina also brings extensive expertise in the fields of regulated bioanalysis, immunology, immunotoxicology, and biopharmaceutical drug development with numerous publications.
 
As part of this carefully planned organizational change, Dr. Ira DuBey has been appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer, President Emeritus for the Pharmaceutical Development Services division. In this capacity, Ira will focus on commercial positioning and strategy as well as key relationship management with clients.

Christina earned her PhD in Cell and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology and Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nevada. Also, she is a certified Lean Six Sigma yellow belt. Before joining Smithers, Tina served as the Senior Director, Global Laboratory Sciences at Charles River Laboratories. She is a member of numerous prominent associations, including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Society of Toxicology, and is on the Scientific Advisory Board for the University of Nevada, College of Science.
