Melissa Staggs

Biologist, Environmental Risk Sciences

Melissa Staggs has 10 years of experience in contract research, with expertise in aquatic toxicology and sediment toxicology. Melissa joined Smithers in 2010 as an assistant biologist, and now serves as a study director for short-term aquatic ecotoxicology tests (including algae, Daphnia, fish, oysters, mysids, midge, and Hyalella). She received her B.S in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven, West Haven, CT and M.S. in Marine Science and Technology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Dartmouth, MA. She is a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC).
