Rebecca Smith

Director of Chemistry, Environmental Risk Sciences

Rebecca Smith applies her proficiency in residue chemistry and analytical chemistry as the Director of Chemistry, Environmental Risk Sciences, North America.

She joined Smithers as an entry-level chemistry technician in 2007 after graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry from University of Connecticut. Her previous roles at Smithers include providing analytical support for ecotoxicology testing, serving as Study Director in product chemistry, and managing the residue chemistry team.

She is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants (NAICC), and serves on the first-aid committee at the Wareham, Massachusetts location of Smithers. Outside of the laboratory, she volunteers as a firefighter, and enjoys cooking, experimenting with home brewing, visiting national parks and beaches, and participating in outdoor activities.
