Environmental transport and fate studies on chemicals provide information on the extent of partitioning, lifetime in air, water, sediment, and soils, and on the potential bioaccumulation in aquatic and terrestrial biota.

The Environmental Fate team at Smithers is comprised of environmental chemists, environmental fate experts, and soil scientists who evaluate the partitioning and degradation behavior of test substances in a range of environmental compartments.

Smithers offers the full range of environmental fate assessments from screening tests to relatively complex higher-tiered simulation type tests, including adsorption-desorption and bioconcentration.
