The Future of Nonwovens for Filtration to 2029

Increasing standards in nonwovens for filtration is continuing to drive growth rates in sales value to 2029. This report examines the evolution of nonwovens filter media.

Table of Contents Key Facts and Figures
  • In 2024 the global consumption of nonwovens for filtration is 826,500 tonnes
  • Growth rates for 2024–29 are 5.9% (volume) and 10.7% (value)
Covid-19 has had a lasting impact on the industry, increasing standards of nonwovens for filtration globally. The evolution of these standards is continuing to drive growth rates in sales value. This data, combined with factors such as inflation, energy supply issues, sustainability, global oversupply, and changing performance needs, has been used to predict an overall increase in value growth but a decrease in volume growth rates.

Filtration is the process of removing solid particles from a liquid or gas through the use of a filter – in this case a nonwoven material – that allows flow of the fluid alone. Filtration is the second largest end-use market for durable nonwovens and the third largest market for nonwovens overall. They are categorised in this report by process, material type and end use, with a specific focus on liquid filtration and air/gas filtration.

This report is essential to:
