Under Christina's leadership the Gaithersburg and Ewing sites deliver bioanalytical services that support the development of large-molecule therapeutics, from discovery through Phase IV with expertise in bioassays and ultra-sensitive ligand-binding assays.
With over 20 years of experience in the bioanalytical contract research organization (CRO) sector, Christina has held roles ranging from research scientist to laboratory leader. She has deep expertise in regulated bioanalysis, immunology, immunotoxicology, and biopharmaceutical drug development.
Christina holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nevada. She is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Prior to joining Smithers, she served as Senior Director of Global Laboratory Sciences at Charles River Laboratories. Christina is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the Society of Toxicology, and the Scientific Advisory Board for the University of Nevada, College of Science.
Outside of work, Christina resides in Maryland with her family and enjoys golfing, hiking, and running.
