Sidney Bluemink

Study Director, Environmental Risk Sciences

Sidney Bluemink, who joined Smithers as a chemist/method developer in 2012 from Covance Laboratories, directs studies and methods development for Residue Chemistry on soil, agricultural products, and animal tissues and fluids. He brings gas chromatography and method development proficiency with over 20 years of experience that spans across his tenure at Smithers/Covance and previous work at Severn Trent Laboratories.

His undergraduate studies covered Oceanography with a Chemistry focus from the University of Liverpool (UK) and earned him a BSc with honors. In his leisure time, he has an avid interest in astronomy and how analytical chemistry can be applied to solar system exploration.
