Summary

This test method evaluates the physical properties of vulcanized rubber when exposed to an elevated temperature. It measures how the specimen reacts to thermal changes by considering the change in comparison to the original sample prior to temperature exposure, and assessing the change in physical & chemical properties.

Test Details

Over time oxidative and thermal aging can have an adverse effect on rubber and rubber products, causing them to deteriorate beyond a functional state. This accelerated aging evaluation method ensures you can assess the performance of rubber under customized conditions; testing is performed in air at a specified temperature and over a specific time period with properties measured prior to and then after the high temperature exposure.
