Summary

This test is designed to evaluate property changes which emulate the end-use conditions the product will face, such as the effects of UV sunlight, moisture and heat. This may include introducing moisture to the test specimen - in order to reproduce the weathering effects that occur when materials are exposed to sunlight and condensing humidity.

The test is suitable for all nonmetallic materials, products and components. It is recommended that a control material is simultaneously exposed alongside the test specimen so we can provide a standard for comparative purposes.

Test Details

This test is not intended to simulate any material or product deterioration caused by localized weather phenomena such as saltwater exposure, biological attack and atmospheric pollution. Results will depend on the operating conditions, and there is a range of operating conditions which can be used in accordance to the parameters of this test method.

Types of products / materials generally tested under this method

  • Non-metallic materials
